European tyre, wheel and axle supplier, Starco Group, has signed a new contract with supply chain solutions provider Agility for procurement logistics between Asia and Europe.
In the first stage of the operation Agility will handle the shipping of 8,000 TEUs of parts, including tyres, tubes, wheel rims, complete wheels and stub axles, from suppliers in Asia to Starco’s central warehouse in Lüneburg Germany. From here they will be distributed to wider European locations including the UK, Belgium, Denmark, Poland and Latvia.
The contract covers complete logistics handling from Asia to the European facilities, including local clearance of imports and process integration in the existing EDI systems.
Agility will provide Starco with a track and trace system allowing the company to track the progress of shipments throughout the process backed up by configurable statistics and reporting.
January also sees Starco become the distributor of Nokian Heavy tyres in agricultural, forestry and construction tyres in the Benelux market.
