Gefco’s division in the UK has appointed John Stocker (left) as its new director of Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL). Stocker moves over from his role as the company’s sales and marketing director, which he has held for the past two years. He will now be responsible for overseeing all elements of the FVL business, including developing and implementing strategy to drive commercial growth, said the company.
“I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to lead the FVL business at what is a very exciting time for the division,” said Stocker. “I will work with my team to ensure that we continue to provide our customers with the most efficient, cost effective and sustainable services, tailored to their business needs. The FVL business has a pivotal role to play in supporting the company’s ambitious growth plans over the coming years.”
Stocker joined Gefco from transport provider Acumen Distribution in 2012 and since then has taken responsibility for the commercial team in the UK, steering the development of a number of new business flows with major clients, in addition to developing the company’s UK sales strategy.
“John has been an enormous asset to Gefco in his role as Sales and Marketing Director, guiding the business through an exciting period of evolution and growth,” said Tristan Balayn, managing director of Gefco UK. “John has more than 30 years of experience to draw on; as well as the industry knowledge, skills and attributes necessary to be successful. I have every confidence that the FVL business will continue to flourish under John’s leadership.”
Stocker replaces Bertrand de Techtermann in the role. Techtermann is moving to a new role that will be announced shortly.
