Toyota Fleet Services has secured a contract with Toyota Material Handling UK (TMHUK) to supply the Proace medium-duty van for TMHUK’s national service fleet. It is the first major fleet deal for the Proace in the UK, which is built by PSA at its Sevelnord factory in northern France.
TMHUK provides UK-wide sales and servicing for Toyota forklift trucks and warehouse equipment, with engineers providing replacement parts and repairs for the equipment. The contract will supply 116 vehicles as part of a business fleet that numbers 400 light commercial vehicles. The final versions of the model were fitted with racking by Bott, a specialist supplier.
Phill Bird, TMHUK’s aftersales director, said that the testing process revealed the van’s efficiency and secured the fleet purchase. “Their vehicles are more than just a van,” he said. “They have to provide a spacious environment providing parts storage and a mobile workshop to deliver our trademark of world class support.”
