North American aftermarket parts distributor, Uni-Select, has introduced a telematics solution that it said aims to improve services to each of its 5,000 service and repair shops across the US and Canada. The company said it hopes the technology will increase inefficiency in the aftermarket supply chain.
Using Delphi Automotive’s data monitoring tool, SmartLink, it will enable suppliers and car owners to connect their vehicles to repair networks regardless of make or model.
“SmartLink creates a connection throughout the entire aftermarket value chain, encouraging better relationships with each link,” explained Philippe Desnos, president of Delphi Product And Service Solutions.
The software works on a two-way communication platform, coupled with the data-management tool adapted in design for Uni-Select. It will be accessible on any desktop, tablet or smart phone device, and provides users with reminders and customised alerts, as well as educational tips about preventative maintenance.
Richard Roy, president and CEO of Uni-Select said the company was dedicated to providing its repair shops with the programmes designed to help them manage and grow their business, something illustrated by the SmartLink rollout.
