Unipart Aftermarket Logistics has won the British Safety Council’s International Safety Award 2014. The company was recognised “for its outstanding contribution in setting world class approaches to health and safety in the transport, distribution and motor trade sector,” according to the company. The announcement was made at a gala dinner event held at the Grovesnor House hotel in London last week.
As well as the main award Unipart achieved two distinctions – one for Unipart Aftermarket Logistics and one for Unipart Technology Logistics. The UK sites evaluated by the British Safety Council were: Nuneaton, Magna Park, two locations in Baginton, Burton-on-Trent, Cowley, Honeybourne and two sites at Tamworth.
The awards recognise organisations across the world that have demonstrated a commitment to the health, safety and well-being of their employees. This year 521 companies from around the world, across a range of sectors, were recognised, with 43 achieving a distinction. (A full list of the organisations recognised is available here).
