Zsolt Vecsera (pictured) has taken over as managing director of Gefco UK. He replaces Tristan Balayn, who has moved to a new role at the transport and logistics company as director of international development for the EuroMed zone.
Vecsera has moved to the UK from his role as managing director of Gefco’s division in Hungary, a position he has held since 2011. Prior to that he was managing director of Raben Logistics.
According to Gefco, Vecsera brings with him a high level of expertise and industry experience, having successfully doubled the revenue and profit of Gefco Hungary during his five-year tenure there.
“I am delighted to be taking on this new role at Gefco UK, particularly in such an exciting and progressive period for the company,” he said. “Having spent time with the Gefco family previously, I am well placed to face the exciting challenges that lie ahead and I look forward to working with the team to ensure we continue to create strong and sustainable growth.”
Marc Cahingt, executive vice-president for Western Europe and Mediterranean, added: “We are incredibly excited to welcome Zsolt to the team. His track record within the industry speaks for itself and we feel this is the perfect fit for Gefco UK, if we are to keep progressing and evolving within the transport and logistics space.”
Balayn was managing director of Gefco UK for five years, having moved there from his role as regional director for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes area. He has been with Gefco for 25 years.
According to a company spokeswoman, Balayn’s new role will involve increasing the firm’s market share in international logistics with specific initial focus on North Africa/Europe.
