Hot on the heels of the announcement that European finished vehicle carrier Hödlmayr has equipped its entire fleet with telematics from Wabco’s Transics International division, comes the news that German forwarder and transport provider, Willi Betz, is increasing the use of Transics’ fleet management technology to 370 of its commercial vehicles.
Betz is using the TX-Sky on-board computer and TX-Connect back office software.
TX-Sky is connected to the vehicle’s CAN bus and tachograph, enabling Will Betz to track and exchange all driver- and truck-related information in real time. Using Transics’ online web service platform, the company’s transport management system is integrated into the TX-Connect back office software. Willi Betz is also using Transics’ document management software TX-Docscan, which allows drivers to forward transport documents directly from the cab, which speeds up billing and payment processes.
“A year ago, we started substituting our old, satellite-based solution with the advanced Transics’ telematics solutions,” said Dietmar Munding, project leader at Willi Betz. “By now, we have equipped more than 120 trucks in eight of our European subsidiaries with TX-Sky on-board computers. The solution helps us to significantly upgrade our fleet management capabilities. Based on the positive results, we decided to equip an additional 250 trucks with Transics’ advanced telematics solution by the end of this year.”
Willi Betz operates 30 locations in Europe, Asia and the Middle East and provides forwarding and transport solutions to a number of sectors, including automotive.
