WW Solutions has opened an equipment processing centre (EPC) in Derrimut, Melbourne, which features a dedicated truck assembly workshop.
The company, part of Norwegian shipping line Wallenius Wilhelmsen, built the unit to meet growing demand from the truck, bus, agricultural and construction markets.
The EPC utilises new warehousing infrastructure and parts management software in use at the company’s other Australian processing centres in Perth, Laverton (Melbourne), Port Kembla and Brisbane.
“The investment in our newest facility in Derrimut has created significant assembly and fleet-fitting capacity, which can be effectively used across our customer base,” said Paul Gibbs, national operations manager, WW Solutions Australia. “It offers 6,000 sq.m of dedicated floor-to-ceiling racking for all of our customers’ parts management requirements.”
WW Solutions says equipment manufacturers in Australia will benefit from improved speed-to-market and greater visibility of parts inventory thanks to the Derrimut EPC, which is about 14km from the company’s Mirrat automotive and ro-ro terminal.
