Kuehne + Nagel International has appointed Yngve Ruud (pictured) as board member with responsibility for global air freight, leading the Airfreight Logistics division. He replaces Tim Scharwth, who is to leave the company in the next year.
Ruud moves to his new position from the role he took up in 2013 as regional manager of Western Europe, Kuehne + Nagel's largest regional organisation. He has been been with the company since 1990 and has developed its business in his home country of Norway, as managing director there, as well as in Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Norway and Sweden from 2011 to 2013.
“During his 26 years with Kuehne + Nagel, Yngve Ruud has demonstrated leadership in various positions,” said Detlef Trefzger, CEO of Kuehne + Nagel International. “With an integrated solutions approach and strong execution, he has successfully expanded the customer base and improved results in all business units in the challenging market environment of Western Europe.”
Kuehne + Nagel claims to be the world's second largest air freight provider and its portfolio of automotive services includes handling air transport of finished vehicles.
