Andy Fitt (pictured) has taken over as managing director of Yusen Logistics UK, replacing Kevin Appleton who has moved to the role of chairman at the company.
Fitt, previously deputy MD at Yusen, has been at the logistics services provider for three years, after moving from Norbert Dentressangle UK in 2015. He has also held senior roles at Ceva Logistics and TNT Logistics.
“I am excited to take on this responsibility to continue driving Yusen Logistics UK forwards,” said Fitt. “The UK is a highly competitive and challenging market, with strategic importance for customers in all of our core vertical markets.”
Appleton moved to Yusen as managing director in 2014 from UK builders’ merchant, Travis Perkins, where he was divisional manager.
Last year, NYK moved to take 100% ownership of Yusen Logistics, its subsidiary, with a buyout offer equal to 25.6 billion yen ($224.8m).
