Yusen Logistics has opened a multi-purpose warehouse in Hai Phong City, northern Vietnam, as part of its ongoing expansion in the country. The facility offers a full range of automotive services for inbound and aftermarket parts, as well as providing services for finished vehicle handling, confirmed a spokesperson for the company.
The facility is sited on a 100,000 sq.m plot in Hai Phong’s Dinh Vu Industrial Zone, which is near Hai Phong port and close to the Lach Huyen port development. The facility comprises a 12,000 sq.m warehouse, a 23,870 sq.m empty container depot with storage capacity for 3,000 TEUs and a vehicle yard with room for 100 trucks. It will also serve chemical and electronics sectors, which, along with automotive, have been growing in the region over the last few years.
Yusen’s Hai Phong port offices have been relocated to the site, bringing together customs clearance, NVOCC services and sales functions into a single location.
The company said that the Hai Phong area has an abundant labour force and that infrastructure developments, such as the industrial complex and a motorway network, are being rapidly implemented.
“This new facility offers general warehousing, bonded warehousing and container freight station (CFS) warehousing,” said the company in a statement. “The only multi-purpose warehouse in Hai Phong, it can fulfil customers’ wide-ranging logistics requirements, including imports of raw materials and parts, shipping of finished goods and buyers’ consolidation.”
At an opening ceremony held last week (12 November), Yusen Logistics’ president Hiromitsu Kuramoto spoke of his ambitions for the region: “As we prepare for increased economic integration with ASEAN, the establishment of a global logistics network that exceeds national borders will become necessary. It is our intention, through the expansion of our business, to contribute to the economic development of Hai Phong City.”
Yusen Logistics (Vietnam) marks its tenth anniversary this year.
