Ceva Logistics has signed a three-year contract with Terex, a global manufacturer of lifting and material-handling equipment, to manage its integrated hub for parts distribution in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Terex makes equipment for industries including construction, infrastructure, quarrying, mining, shipping, transport, energy, refining, utilities and manufacturing.
The 1,430-square-metre parts distribution facility is located in Barueri, near São Paulo region, and Ceva will now provide services covering the entire flow of receipt, checking, storage, order picking, packaging and the expedited shipping of approximately 15,000 spare parts to Terex’s distributors and customers.
In addition, it will manage the distribution of Terex, Genie and Demag products throughout Brazil.
With regard to the transport side of the contract and the distribution of the parts, Ceva has developed a connection between Terex’s system and its own Ceva Matrix warehouse and transport management systems.
“We are a customer focused company, and rapid order response is critical to customer satisfaction levels, which is why we made a substantial investment in the creation of the Terex Integrated Center of Parts Distribution (CIDP) with CEVA,” said Rodrigo Zandonadi Schmidt, manager, Parts Operations and Sales, for Terex Latin America. “We already have a strong relationship with Ceva in the Netherlands and we are pursuing the same success here.”
Terex wants to improve agility in the order delivery process by dispatching 95% of the parts within 24 hours after receipt of the order, according to the company.
“We are absolutely prepared to meet this demand,” said Paulo Correia, Ceva’s regional sales manager for Brazil, adding that it intended to build a long term relationship with Terex in Brazil.
