David Durant (pictured) has been appointed as senior vice-president for aftersales at Volkswagen America.
He will report to Hinrich Woebcken, who was appointed head of the North America region in April last year.
The 50-year old Durant will oversee all Volkswagen brand aftersales activities, which include developing and implementing strategies for the parts and accessories market, as well as improving customer experience and service retention.
He has almost 30 years of retail and corporate sales and aftersales experience, and joined Volkswagen of America in 2005. Since then, he has held a number of positions including that of regional director of the north-east region.
Most recently, he served as vice-president, technical service and quality, and in his new role he will continue to lead this division for the VW brand.
Volkswagen of America is headquartered in Herndon, Virginia. Its US operations include vehicle processing, parts distribution centres, sales, marketing and service offices, financial service centres, and its manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
