Eddie Aston (pictured) has been appointed managing director for the UK, Ireland and Nordic (UKIN) region at Ceva Logistics. He joins the supply chain management company from commercial van hire and leasing organisation Northgate, where he was UK managing director.
He will be based at Ashby-de-la-Zouch and replaces Michael O’Donoghue, who has been moved to head the 3PL’s operations in North America.
Aston said his goals in the new role included pressing on with the next phase of Ceva’s growth in the region.
"We warmly welcome such an experienced professional as Eddie to our management team,” said Xavier Urbain, CEO of the group, which is based in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands. “His commercial business acumen and proven track record make him the ideal individual to lead the UKIN [operations] into the next phase of their growth plans. I also want to thank Michael for the excellent results he has delivered in UKIN."
In the latter part of last year, Ceva invested in 120 new Iveco Stralis trucks supplied by Dawson Rentals to upgrade its fleet in the UK. The trucks are being used to serve the automotive, consumer and healthcare industries.
The automotive sector accounts for around a quarter of the group’s revenue.
