Gefco has designed a new customised logistics service for Argentinean industrial supplier Grupo Mirgor, which it said will enable the automotive and electronics supplier to manage its national and international supply of parts more efficiently. Mirgor, which has been using Gefco services for a decade, makes vehicle air conditioning units, gearboxes and also assembles wheels through its Interclima division. Renault is one of its major customers. The company is also active in the home electronic and mobile phone markets.
Gefco is providing full and consolidated container transport via ocean as well as air freight deliveries of components to Buenos Aires from Europe and Asia. It is also providing bonded warehouse services here and onward road deliveries from storage facilities in Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo to Mirgor’s assembly facility in Rio Grande (Tierra del Fuego).
The company said it has decreased road transit times for Mirgor by two days as well as reducing logistics cost and providing enhanced track and trace IT solutions. At the warehouses the company is providing repacking and customised packing of components as well as management of just-in-time temporary stocks.
“Mirgor chose Gefco Argentina as a strategic partner because the two companies put quality and customer service at the heart of their offer,” said Ricardo Andia, overseas manager at Gefco Argentina. “Gefco has unrivalled experience in logistics engineering, allowing it to put door-to-door solutions in place that encompass both regional and international transport at the same time. We are constantly in search of sustainable improvements throughout the supply chain to make our customers more competitive.”
